In order to relieve little kids of their heavy load of books carried to school, several sets of textbooks are kept in the classrooms for their use. This system is adopted for the students of classes L.K.G., U.K.G. and Stds. I to V.
Tests and Examinations:
For children studying in classes from L.K.G. to Std. III, the usual tests and examinations have been done away with. On the other hand, a continuous and comprehensive evaluation of all the activities of the child is in place.
For students of Stds. IV to X, on the completion of every chapter in every subject, tests will be given and necessary remedial measures will be initiated.
Students of Stds. VI to X may be asked to stay back in the school after the class hours for the remedial work. The co-operation of the parents is required in this regard.
Parent-teacher meetings are arranged to help the parents to get to know about their ward’s academic attainment, behaviour pattern, participation in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and several other activities. It is sad that a few parents about 1%, do not attach importance to this exercise. It is important that the parents meet the teachers concerned on the appointed date and time for the said exercise. Performance cards will be handed over, only to the parents.
Physical and mental fitness of the pupils:
Teams of doctors visit the school periodically and interact with students. When necessity demands, special counselling is given to the students with the involvement of the parents. Qualified medical practitioners visit the Vidyalaya at regular intervals to examine the students and identify their defects or deficiencies and to suggest remedial measures.
